Nathiagali - A Mountain Resort

For the most of you Nathiagali is not a new name or a new place. Everyone who has visited Murree have visited Nathiagali. This blog is about a little history or places in Nathiagali most of you have not visited or not know about. So lets start the blog with a little introduction and history about the place.

Intro & History:
Nathiagali is a part of Abbotabad district of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa, Pakistan. It location is in the center of Galyat range. Galyat are the term used for different hill stations in that area. You can reach Nathiagali from both Murree & Abbotabad in same time as it is in the middle of Murree and Abbotabad.

As we all know that many of the hill stations in Pakistan are developed in the British rule which were normally used as the summer headquarters same as the case is with Nathiagali. It was also developed in the British rule and was served as the summer headquarters for the cheif commissoner of peshawar division.

What's so Special ?
So what so special about Nathiagali. The most special thing about Nathiagali is its climate and the calm environment. If you want to relax and enjoy the nature in low budget it will advised to choose Nathiagali as your destination.

Nathiagali has different points to visit, beautiful scenes to enjoy. Nathiagali is not so much rushy like other hill station spots. If you love trekking Nathiagali will be a great choice. You can enjoy trekking with beautiful views, a bit challenging treks, and awesome weather.

The best time:
You can visit Nathiagali anytime throughout the year but it is preffered to avoid to go there in December and January due to heavy snowfall. You can get stuck there in these two months as the snowfall is unpredictable.

If love snowy weather you can go there in between November to February. If you love rainy weather you can go there in between March to May and if you love moderate weather you can visit Nathiagali in between June to October.

What to do in Nathiagali:
When you have reached Nathiagali there is so much to do not only just to wander in the Bazar of Nathiagali. There are so much spots in Nathiagali you can visit and all those spots are not far away you can reach there after a few minutes walk.
There is track in the Nathiagali Bazar
(Nathiagali Hiking Track)
which you can visit any time in the day and enjoy the views after reaching the top and during your way.

Other Spots are as follows,

  • Mushkpuri Top

(Also known as "Mukeshpuri" is a 2800 Metre high mountain and can be reached after 4 KM Hike from Nathiagali)
  • Miran Jani
(Miranjani is the highest peak in Galiyat region with a height of 2,992 Meters Height and can be reached after 4.69 KM hike from near to Governor house) 
  • Green Spot
(A beautiful spot which is actually part of PAF base Kalabagh. Only Families are allowed to enter.)
  • Governor's House
(Governor House being opened for general public on 25th August,2019 and according to "Tour Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa" you can book it in Rs. 40,000/-)
  • Nathiagali's Church
(St. Mathew's Church build in 1914 from Cedar wood and being look after by a Muslim family for over a 100 years) 
  • Lalazar Park
(Track of Lalazar Wildlife Park- The only way to go there)
  • Namli Maira Waterfall


(Namli Maira Waterfall located in Namli Maira a rural area in Abbotabad District 9.5 Km from Nathiagali)
  • Samundar Katha Lake

(A newly built tourist spot built by the KPK government to boost tourism in the region. It is located in Barra gali around 11 Km from Nathiagali.)
